Oliver A. Smith IV

After receiving a degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with high honors in 1987, Oliver A. Smith, IV joined his family's real estate firm. That same year he completed his commercial real estate auctioneering training from the Missouri Auction School, "The Harvard of Auction Schools". He personally trained in real estate development, auctions, brokerage and syndications under the tutelage of Oliver A. Smith, Jr., until his demise in 1990. At that time, Mr. Smith became president and sole owner of Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc.

Oliver A. Smith, IV continued the involvement of the company with the regions growth. He pushed the company to record sales levels and put together a team of sales associates that are known throughout the industry for their production. Mr. Smith sits upon a number of professional and civic boards as well as charitable organizations. He has been named to the Hall of Fame of Keep Knoxville Beautiful, a nationally recognized affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. He has been a member of the Economic Development Board for the Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership and was a founding member and past president of the internationally recognized Young Entrepreneur Organization's Knoxville Chapter.

With over a thousand acres of multi-use commercial parks under development and with close relationships with numerous national clientele which have been obtained through years of being in the industry, Oliver A. Smith, IV continues to propel the company forward. Bringing hundreds of millions of dollars of new development and tenants to the region's landscape, Oliver A. Smith, IV strives to maintain the company's 70 year reputation of being respected in every field of its endeavor.


Jerry Holloway

Jerry grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. His love of sports kept him engaged in athletics from an early age and was his ticket to a football scholarship at the University of Tennessee. Under the tutelage of Coach Doug Dickey, Jerry and his teammates played in three major bowl games ('66 Gator, '67 Orange, and '68 Cotton Bowls) and won the Southeastern Conference in 1967. Jerry graduated with a degree in Marketing and Transportation in 1969 and coached the UT freshman offensive line that Fall while working on a masters degree. In 1970, he was honored by UT fans as a member of the News-Sentinel's Tennessee All-Decade team for the '60's. Upon graduation, Jerry and his wife, Mary Lynn, remained in Knoxville and are proud parents of two sons, a granddaughter and grandson.

After a 25+ year award-filled career in the automotive replacement parts industry as a salesman, sales manager, and marketing manager with firms like Maremont, ITT, and Arrow Automotive, Jerry decided on Commercial Real Estate Sales as his career path of choice. He chose Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. because of its long standing history of success, reputation and recognition in the market place, and a common philosophy.... "what is right, is right and that's what we will do." One of Jerry's most recent milestone accomplishments was the sale of the historical 500 Acre Davis Farm in Blount County, Tennessee to The University of Tennessee.

Jerry believes that honesty, good work ethics, competitive spirit, and building win-win relationships brings happiness and success.


Michael D. Price

Mike, a lifetime Knoxvillian, is a 28 year veteran of the real estate industry. He attended the University of Tennessee on a football scholarship where he was a 3-year letterman as a wide receiver for Coach Doug Dickey's Volunteers. He was a member of teams that played in Four Major Bowls ('65 Bluebonnet, '66 Gator, '67 Orange and '68 Cotton) and very proud to be a part of the Southeastern Conference Champions of 1967. Mike's real estate career started immediately after college after joining a division of Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Company that specialized in property acquisitions for apartment complexes and shopping centers all across the southeast.

He joined the firm of J.D. Price Realty in 1976, a company that he founded with his father, and for the next 20 years was involved with the acquisitions and marketing of commercial developments in Knoxville such as The Radison Hotel, Western Plaza Shopping Center, West Forty Trade Center and the Jackson Square Office Tower in Oak Ridge. Residential property acquired through Mike's efforts led to the development of some of the areas most prestigious subdivisions such as The River Club and Victoria's Inlet on Fort Loudon Lake. Others include Gettysvue Golf & Polo Club, Longview on Rudder Lane, Cherokee Springs and Tellico Harbor at Tellico Lake.

In 1995 Mike joined Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc., his long time friends and business associates to widen the field for commercial and residential development for their mutual clients. Since 1995 Mike has been a part of the acquisition teams that have produced the sales of some of Knoxville's newest and best office buildings and commercial sites. These include the Center Square II Building in downtown Knoxville and the Weston Building in West Knoxville. His latest residential endeavor and one of the largest in the area is called Allegheny Cove, a private gated community, which is located in the mountains of Blount County and entails over 800 acres with creeks and water falls.

Mike enjoys the search for land and being a part of the creation process, but his pride and joy is his wife, Vickie, and their four children.

Mike is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys golf. He is on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs in Knoxville and resides in West Knoxville.


Marvin Dean Rutherford

Dean Rutherford is a real estate broker with Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. specializing in commercial development. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1976 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a major in Real Estate. He began his career as a residential agent at Ben Palmer Realty. After joining Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc., Dean played a major role in the development of the Emory Road and I-75 interchange in Knoxville, Tennessee. His most recent development is the 30 Acre Hardin Valley Technology Park. He specializes in land planning, road and utilities construction.

Dean and Janie, his wife of 23 years, live in the Halls/Gibbs area. They have two daughters. Dean is an avid golfer and outdoorsman. The family are members of the Salem Baptist Church.


Bill Trent, Jr.

Bill Trent, Jr. is a real estate broker with Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. He graduated from The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Bill concentrates most of his professional focus on heavy density residential and light commercial development. He began his career in North Knoxville at Crossroads Realty. He has been principal owner and development partner in various residential subdivisions in the Knoxville area, as well as the Blakely Court office/warehouse development in Strawberry Plains. In the past few years Bill has also established his own apartment management company and construction company which he owner operates.

Beyond business life, Bill and his wife, Lori, enjoy practically all water sports, as well as being avid tennis players. They attend Beaver Dam Baptist Church and are active in numerous community projects and activities.


James L. Turner

Jim Turner has been associated with Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. for over 10 years, developing Retail Centers, Offices and a variety of other commercial properties.

Jim graduated from Penn State University in 1973 earning a degree in Real Estate and Insurance. After graduation Jim was employed by R. Dan Culp, Realtor, as Construction Coordinator and Leasing Agent for the Northshore Center Office Complex where he leased and finished the interior space of the 200,000 square foot complex.

In 1976 Jim formed Eastern Realty Management Co., specializing in commercial property development and management. For 15 years he developed numerous successful projects from Tennessee to Florida. Since working with Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc., Jim has developed projects from Advance Auto Parts Stores, St. Mary's Medical Offices, Family Dollar Stores, Movie Gallery Stores, Fabric Outlet Stores to a Montessori School.

Jim is a member of the Rotary Club of West Knoxville where he has served as both President and Treasurer. Jim is a devoted family man and father. He and his wife, Susan, and their 5 children enjoy boating on the Tennessee River and traveling abroad. Jim also enjoys touring the southeast while piloting his plane.


Kent Dyer

Kent Dyer is a real estate agent with Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. specializing in commercial development. A "First Families of Tennessee" Knoxville native, he graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1990 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a major in Marketing. Building on a 10-year award filled career in the retail restaurant and hi-technology industries as a salesman and sales manager with companies like the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, Corky's BBQ, and Internet Pictures Corporation (National Real Estate Division) Kent chose to apply his unique skills to Commercial Real Estate Sales. He chose Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. because of its history of success, and its team of brokers that have brought together their respective talents for the benefit of clients. After joining Oliver Smith Realty and Auction Co., Inc., Kent has aided several regional & national restaurants and retail chains in successfully opening new locations in the Knoxville market.

Kent and his wife Ginny live in the Fountain City area. They have two children. Kent enjoys golf, tennis, and most team sports. The family is active members of Grace Baptist Church in Karns.


Terry Barnett

Mr. Barnett has recently joined the Oliver Smith Realty team as an affiliate broker. He has an extensive background in Commercial Real Estate as an investor. He is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and has a vast amount of knowledge in commercial banking and is very capable in the retail market.

 


Audrey Fincher

Audrey Fincher has joined Oliver Smith Realty and Auction Company, Inc. as an affiliate broker. She has worked in the East Tennessee region for over five years in commercial real estate sales. Audrey brings a wealth of experience to the firm having an extensive background in banking and insurance. She attended Walter State and East Tennessee State University, and worked for First TN Bank for 15 years as an Executive Assistant in regional sales.


Alpesh Patel

Alpesh Patel has joined Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc., a commercial real estate investment and brokerage firm. Alpesh is a Cornell University graduate with a degree in the School of Hotel Administration. His professional career began as an analyst at Ernst & Young's Hospitality Advisory Services group in New York City. Alpesh recently moved back to Knoxville to work with his family's hotel development and management company, Kana Hospitality Group. Kana develops and manages midscale and upper midscale hotels affiliated with Hilton, Marriott and InterContinental brands. The team of Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. and Kana have formed partnerships that have under construction the Hilton Garden Inn Cedar Bluff, Holiday Inn Express Strawberry Plains and Hampton Inn & Suites Smyrna. Kana and Oliver Smith Realty & Auction Co., Inc. have a 20 year relationship. Alpesh will focus on hotel acquisition, dispositions and new developments.


Ray Ishak

Realty with Integrity” is Ray’s motto. He is committed to providing honest and dependable service. His attention to details, customer service, and intimate knowledge of the commercial real estate market in the Knoxville area separates him from the rest of the realtors in this market. Seven years in real estate business focusing in the Knoxville area in the commercial real estate market especially in Shopping center, income-producing properties, and commercial land. Ray received his Masters degree in mathematics from the University of South Florida. Previous experience in teaching mathematics in colleges and high schools has helped him tremendously in real estate. He communicates with clients in a clear, simple, and easy to understand way to help them make the best decisions. These decisions are based on understanding the market place in the past, present, and future based on the quality of the real estate properties and most importantly, the numbers that make their values. His goals are: Be a good example of realtors in the community by treating all clients, customers, and people in general with honesty, integrity, and respect; Form a line of communications between concerned citizens of our area and local, state, and federal officials to address issues of traffic, safety, growth, schools, and all other real estate related issues; Connect schools' curricula and the real estate market, development, and construction by encouraging students and teachers to work on real-life projects, like making house, schools, and business models; to encourage the cultural exchange between different ethnic groups to reach the common good for the whole community; reach out as a volunteer to charitable organization to return to our community what God has blessed him with. Being a naturalized citizen and living in the great USA for 27 years helps Ray to connect between the native and the immigrants.
